Reporting to the Outgrowers Manager,
The successful Applicant’s duties will be:
• Regular visits to the farmer’s field and guiding them in the sugar cane cultivation.
• Programming for varietal nurseries in the farmer’s field to propagate new varieties and ensuring varietal purity.
• Conducting demonstrations in the farmer’s field to effectively take the technology from lab to land.
• Ensuring continuous supply of mature green and clean cane from farmer’s field based on company need.
• Maintaining a cordial working relationship and effective environment with the subordinates i.e. supervisors and field assistants to ensure better out put from them.
• Exploring newer avenues for expanding the area under cane cultivation, to meet out the increasing demand for raw material by the factory, with its expanded capacity.
• Striking a good rapport with the farming community and keeping the channels of communication open for better understanding and relationship.
• Striving to improve per ha productivity, by better agronomic practices in the farmer’s fields, to reduce the cost of cultivation and healthier economic climate.
Requirement:
Qualifications and Experience:
Applicants should have the following:
• A Bachelor Degree in Agriculture Science from a-recognised university with a minimum of five years hands on experience in out grower farming operations with the knowledge of sugar cane agronomy, planning, supervision and coordinating skills.
