KadAfrica Ltd ,Program Coordinator Jobs in Uganda

Job description
Position
Overview
KadAfrica
Ltd. is an agribusiness in Western Uganda that empowers out of school girls to
begin their own viable agro-enterprise ventures through passion fruit
cultivation. The company is expanding our operations with a Program Coordinator
position, who will play a key role in developing a

quickly growing, innovative
organization that is on the forefront of female empowerment and sustainable
agriculture in Africa.

The
Program Coordinator will be based in Fort Portal, Uganda and working in a
start-up environment. The individual will be focused on supporting the systems
that form the backbone of KadAfrica’s outgrower programming, including farm
site management, staff coordination, and analyzing our results.
Overview
of KadAfrica
Mission:
KadAfrica seeks to reinvigorate commercial fruit production in Uganda by
building resilient farming communities founded upon the empowerment of women
and girls through the cultivation of passion fruit.
KadAfrica
envisions a female youth population who are economic drivers of their
communities through profits realized in agribusiness. We achieve this by
providing:
  • Curriculum-based
    and “hands on” training
  • Access
to land, quality seedling, agroinputs, and technical support
  • Bulked
    transport and a ready market
  • Cooperative
    support and saving schemes
KadAfrica
uses an integrative approach that combines hands-on and curriculum based
learning and recognizes the relationship between economic security and
poor choices or risky behaviors
among young women in rural Western
Uganda. Out of school girls are provided with the
resources—access to land, quality grafted seedling, and inputs—as well as
skills necessary to begin their own passion fruit farms. KadAfrica overcomes
poor market linkages through bulked transport and provides a guaranteed market
by buying back the fruit harvested, thereby disabling current constraints to
empower young women to become economic drivers of their communities through
profits realized in agribusiness.
KadAfrica
is a 2014 Unreasonable Venture, 2014 SEED Africa Award Winner, and 2015 Winner
of the Future Forward Innovations for Youth Employment in Africa Award Winner
for its unique, market based approach to the sustainable development of women
and girls through agriculture.
