SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR
Available: Immediately
Hours/Shifts: Monday to Friday – 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
Schedules are subject to change to meet departmental needs.
Position Summary:
The successful candidate will ensure the stability and security of the agencies Information Services network and telecom environments. The successful applicant’s primary role will be to lead the ongoing maintenance, support and development of the agency’s WAN/Desktop architecture.
Key Responsibilities:
* Technical lead for agency’s Wide Area Network and desktop systems
* Ensures optimum WAN/server stability and performance
* Security administration of the network
* Supports remote offices with support and access to core applications
* Provide IT Helpdesk services to end users
* Provide Hardware/Software Rollout where necessary
* Hands on experience to troubleshoot, diagnose and fix systems as required
* Ensure staff are assisted with access to systems in a timely manner
* Procurement of hardware, software and services
* Adherence to the policies, procedures and standards of Operation Springboard, our funders, donors and other stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
* Excellent I.T. skills acquired through post-secondary diploma/degree in the field of information technology, computer science and/ or various program certifications etc.
* Three years of related work experience within a Microsoft environment
* Knowledge of Windows Server/AD/Exchange environment in a WAN setting
* Knowledge of virtualization, backup/restore and DR strategies
* Experience administrating a wide range of telecomm systems across different offices
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Knowledge of networking protocols
* Experience and knowledge of procurement strategies
* Experience selecting and managing third party contractors/suppliers
* Excellent assessment, communication (verbal & written) interpersonal, decision-making, problem solving, and leadership skills
* Ability to work independently
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience in the non-profit, social services sector
