Program Officer – F&E Focus (1 yr contract,
renewable/Machinga) – Heart to Heart Foundation
Reporting to the Program coordinator, the Program Officer is the focal person
for on the ground facial cleanliness and environmental improvement activities
and is responsible for sporting for program planning, organising, implementing
and monitoring and evaluation
Build the capacity of primary schools through training on good hygiene
practices for trachoma prevention and control, Promote personal hygiene and
sanitary improvement practices among school children and teachers, Plan,
organise, and coordinate environmental improvement program including
construction of new and rehabilitated boreholes, piped spring systems,
rainwater harvesting and water treatment, Facilitate the multiple uses of
hygiene promotion and education elated to trachoma prevention, Work closely
with local partners to ensure appropriate integration of key activities,
Coordinate and check the works of local partners by conducting frequent field
visits for monitoring and supervision, Attend quarterly review meetings and
regular stakeholders meetings, Prepare periodic project progress reports for
submission through the Program Coordinator to the Country Manager, Prepare
procurement request vouchers and submit for approval related to the
construction or rehabilitation of boreholes and latrines, Monitor subcontractor
work in the construction or rehabilitation of boreholes and latrines
Minimum of a Degree in Environmental Health, Water Resources Management or
elated technical field, At least 5 yrs hand son experience in working with WASH
or livelihood programs, preferably related to community based rural development
work, Demonstrated experience in the field of Water, Sanitation and Hygiene
Education, Good community participatory skills, Experience in networking is
necessary, Experience in using Microsoft Office, Excellent skills in report
writing, Excellent communication and human relations skills, Excellent written
and spoken command of English and Chichewa, Able to work with minimum supervision
Office based with frequent travel to the field (60% field work), On call: when
called upon
