education/outdoor experience guides to join our team for the spring,
summer and fall, possibly leading into a full time year round career.

Position Task: The delivery of outdoor, environmental & experiential
education programs at Haliburton Forest through group experiences,
Canopy Tours and dog sledding. While assisting with day to day
operations (i.e. maintenance, dog kennel work, housekeeping, etc…)
Responsibilities:
• Development and planning of programs;
• Facilitate, teach and lead group activities and programs;
• Ensure a safe environment for clients
Selection Criteria:
• Creative, energetic and able to participate fully in active programs;
• A broad base of experience teaching and leading outdoor and group
focused activities;
• Demonstrated supervisory experience and group management skills;
• Ability to provide excellent customer service working with groups &
general public;
• Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment;
• Enjoys working with dogs
Qualifications:
• Completed University or College in related field with previous hands
on experience;
• High ropes/climbing experience is an asset;
• Ability to pass a Police Reference Check;
• Guiding experience/qualifications in biking/mountain biking,
overnight canoe & hiking trips, as well as nature interpretation;
• Ability to speak & understand languages such as German, Japanese, etc…;
• Minimum current first aid & CPR certificates, asset Wilderness First Aid;
• Minimum current Bronze Cross or equivalent, asset NLS
Contract: May until Thanksgiving 2015 with possible extension to full
time year round
Scheduling: Variable with weekends, evenings, and overnights. Minimum
of 40 hours a week.
Starting Wage: $13.00 an hour, lieu time given for overtime work
