My client is a fast growing and dynamic independent service provider focused on
the development, refurbishment and operation & maintenance (O&M) of
hydropower plants in developing countries, especially in Africa.
They have been awarded the operation and Maintenance of hydropower plant in
Liberia. For this contract they are seeking suitable candidates to reinforce
its team of expats.
Working on this project you will help to develop a team capable of training local
staff for taking over the operation under supervision after a certain period of
time.
Project Description:
– Location: Liberia, 45 min drive from the capital Monrovia
– Powerplant: 4×22 MW Vertical Francis
– Dams: 1.3 km long clay core rock-fill dams
– Spillway: 10 radial gates, 15 000 m3/s
– Substation: 66 kV, double bus bar, with 2 outgoing transmission lines
The Plant is currently undergoing a complete rehabilitation and commissioning
of the plant is taking place.
O&M Technician – Liberia (Hydropower)
The Mechanical Technician will be affected either to the Maintenance department
as Maintenance Supervisor in the plant maintenance workshop.
You will join a team of 2 Electrical Technicians under the responsibility of
the Maintenance Manager.
– Completed degree as mechanical technician
– 5 years experience in power sector after graduation
– Previous experience in hydropower
– Min 2 years of experience in Sub-Saharan Africa or equivalent
– Native English language or fluent
JOB CONDITIONS
Assignment in Liberia, on the basis of a 3 months rotation. Accommodation on
site and/or in Monrovia depending on position.
Duration of assignment is flexible, anticipated 1 to 2 years up to the full
duration of the contract, i.e. 5 years.
Salary Package: 6000-7000 Euros per Month
