My client is a fast growing and dynamic independent service provider focused on
the development, refurbishment and operation & maintenance (O&M) of
hydropower plants in developing countries, especially in Africa. They have been
awarded the operation and Maintenance of hydropower plant in Liberia. For this
contract they are seeking suitable candidates to reinforce its team of expats.
Working on this project you will help to develop a team capable of training
local staff for taking over the operation under supervision after a certain
period of time.
Project Description:
Location: Liberia, 45 min drive from the capital Monrovia
Powerplant: 4×22 MW Vertical Francis
Dams: 1.3 km long clay core rock-fill dams
Spillway: 10 radial gates, 15 000 m3/s
Substation: 66 kV, double bus bar, with 2 outgoing transmission lines
Electrical/Mechanical Technician
Will be affected to the operation department, as senior operation supervisor.
They will be responsible of the continuous operation of the power plant from
the control room on a 3 shift basis. They will receive instructions from the
dispatch centre and operate the plant generation units accordingly.
You will join a team of 5 operation supervisors, under the responsibility of
the Operation Manager.
– Completed degree as electrical, IT/electronics or Mechanical technician
– 5 years experience in power sector after graduation
– Min 2 years of experience in the operation of a Hydropower plant
– Min 2 years of experience in Sub-Saharan Africa or equivalent
– Native English language or fluent
The technician will be affected either to the Maintenance department as
Maintenance Supervisor in the plant maintenance workshop.
You will join a team of 2 Technicians under the responsibility of the
Maintenance Manager.
– Completed degree as mechanical technician
– 5 years experience in power sector after graduation
– Previous experience in hydropower
– Min 2 years of experience in Sub-Saharan Africa or equivalent
– Native English language or fluent
JOB CONDITIONS
Assignment in Liberia, on the basis of a 3 months rotation. Accommodation on
site and/or in Monrovia depending on position.
Duration of assignment is flexible, anticipated 1 to 2 years up to the full
duration of the contract, i.e. 5 years.
Salary Package: 6000 Euros per Month
