Overview:
With a dual accountability to Evergreen and Sweet Pete’s Bike Shops,
this role will be responsible for day-to-day retail operations in the
shop, as well as planning and implementing cycling programs for
visitors to Evergreen Brick Works, helping to ensure that a broad
range of engaging recreational and educational cycling activities are
available to site customers and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
Bike Shop Retail Operation
• Ensure the smooth and professional day-to-day operation of Sweet
Pete’s Bike Shop at Evergreen Brick Works, including customer service,
sales, bike rentals and bike maintenance/repair intake, and basic
inventory management.
Sweet Pete’s Bike Shop Program Coordination
• Plan, deliver and monitor the cycling program offerings of Sweet
Pete’s Bike shop (to include, e.g., bike obstacle course, cycling
skills, trail rides, fit for cycling equipment, basic mechanics,
Sprokids®, etc.)
• Coordinate with Evergreen site-management teams and other staff to
ensure smooth logistics, space and resource bookings, registration and
payment systems, and outreach and marketing are in place.
• Implement and adhere to Health & Safety, Emergency Preparedness, and
Risk Management protocols, per Sweet Pete’s and Evergreen’s
guidelines.
Collaboration and Teamwork
• Work in collaboration with Evergreen Brick Works staff, including
the Bike Works Project Manager, to ensure complementarity and
efficiency of programs, harmonized outreach, and clear internal and
external communication.
• Participate as a member of the Evergreen Brick Works team in
training, orientation, evaluation/reflection, and program development
processes.

Guidelines:
Reporting Relationships:
• Supervised by: Manager, Sweet Pete’s Bike Shop and Site Manager, Evergreen
• Supervises: interns and volunteers, as needed
Qualifications:
• At least 1 year experience in sales, retail operations, customer
service and/or business management;
• At least 2 years’ experience in cycling or other recreational
program administration, coordination, and delivery;
• Strong customer service orientation and excellent interpersonal skills;
• Proven expertise in group facilitation, training and/or education;
• Experience working with diverse populations and people of all ages;
• Solid bike maintenance, repair, equipment and riding skills.
• Standard First Aid and CPR required (or willing to obtain)
Working conditions:
• Some work outdoors in inclement weather
Physical requirements:
• Standing for extended periods of time
• Lifting objects in excess of 20 lbs on a regular basis
• Able to ride a mountain bike with proficiency
Terms of contract:
• (April – October), with possibility of renewal
• $20/hr, starting rate
• 30+ hours, including evening and weekend hours, as needed
