Overview: This role will be responsible for day-to-day coordination of
the Bike Works shop at Evergreen Brick Works, which offers an open and
accessible drop-in community bike space featuring supported DIY bike
repair and maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate the 7-day/week operations of the Bike Works shop,
including scheduling of mechanics and volunteers, inventory,
administration, and front-line customer service;
• Responsible for implementing accessible and engaging DIY drop-in
programs during shop hours;
• Support additional Bike Works programs as needed, including training
workshops, trail rides, and special events and celebrations at
Evergreen Brick Works;
• Support implementation of existing program tracking and evaluation
plans, as needed;
• Participate in presentations, publicity, and other outreach about
the project, as required;

Guidelines:

Reporting Relationships:
• Supervised by: Program Leader, Bike Works, Evergreen Brick Works
• Supervises: Volunteers and Interns

Qualifications:
• 1-2 years of previous work/volunteer experience in bike-related
programming, education and training, or public engagement (or similar)
• Solid understanding of shop operations, including scheduling,
inventory, and administration
• Bike mechanic certification – BAM, Barnett’s, Winterbourne or
equivalent experience gained in a DIY Bike shop or retail bike setting
• Demonstrated public engagement and customer service skills
• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations and ability levels
• Demonstrated ability to problem solve and resolve conflict
• CPR/First Aid (or willing to obtain)
• Can Bike 2 Certified (an asset)

Working conditions:
• Some outdoor work in inclement weather
• Some work with children and vulnerable populations

Physical requirements:
• Standing for extended periods of time
• Lifting objects in excess of 20 lbs on a regular basis

Terms of contract:
• (April- October)
• $15/hr, starting rate
• 30+ hours per week, including evening and weekend hours as needed
