Background

Broadband
Systems Corporation, Ltd (“BSC Ltd”) is a licensed Internet Service
Provider (ISP) that has been incorporated under the laws and regulations of the
Republic of Rwanda. The company is engaged in the business of providing
advanced Information Communication Technology (“ICT”) services based
on broadband connectivity.

In
order to effectively accomplish its business objectives, BSC Ltd is looking for
qualified and competent candidates to fill the following vacant positions.

1.
Position: Senior Network Engineer

Key
responsibilities

Maintain
a thorough understanding of Internet routing and its sub systems
Design,
setup and configure complex switching and routing (STP, VTP, Ether channel,
BOP, OSPF, MPLS, FHRP …)
Design,
setup and configure complex wireless networking that supports open or
secured access and the ability to support voice and video applications
Configuring
and management ISP support S y System security, VPN)
Maintaining
multi-site network operations and regular maintenance for company s
facilities
Managing
assigned projects and program components to deliver services in accordance
with established objectives.
Responding
to inquiries from customers to provide technical assistance and support
Troubleshooting
malfunctions of network hardware and software applications, IP Phones and
security systems to resolve operational issues and restore services.
Maintaining
Cisco Unified Communication Manager
Any
other duties as assigned by management

Qualification
and Experience:

Must
possess a bachelor’s degree in either Computer Engineering/ Science, IT,
Electrical & Electronics Engineering or any other related field. A
master’s degree is an added advantage.
Must
have a minimum of 5 years working experience in the field of networking
preferably in an ISP environment
Knowledge
of switching and routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF etc is a must
Current
CCNP Routing & Switching or CCNP service provider certification
Linux
Hands-on and experience of more than 2 years (RHCE is a plus).
Experience
with
Cisco      Unified Communication Manager
configuration and infrastructure
Technical,
analytical and interpersonal skills required
Proven
People management skills
Ability
to communicate in an understandable, polite and friendly manner, both
written and verbal
Strong
organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a service provider
environment
Availability
in response to needs of the customer for installation, maintenance and
equipment

2.
Junior Network Engineer

Key
responsibilities

Must
possess considerable knowledge of, and the ability to practically apply,
the principles and practices used in the design, configuration,
installation, testing, and maintenance of local and wide area computer
wired and wireless networks.
Assist
in the design of multi-server environments including IP address schemes,
DNS, Ether-Channel etc.
Provisioning
and Video Conference client support
Maintaining
multi-site network operations and regular maintenance for company’s
facilities
Managing
assigned projects and program components to deliver services in accordance
with established objectives.
Responding
to inquiries from customers to provide technical assistance and support
Administration
of systems and servers related network to ensure availability of services.
Troubleshooting
malfunctions of network hardware and software applications, IF Phones and
security systems to resolve operational issues and restore services
Any
other duties as assigned by the supervisor
