DAI seeks a
Business, Market and Finance Specialist for an anticipated five year, $33-35
million USAID-funded integrated agricultural productivity and nutrition project
for Rwanda. The anticipated project, Sustainable Food, Agriculture and
Nutrition Activity (SFAN), is expected to sustainably increase smallholder
farmer incomes, improve the nutritional status
of Rwandan women and children,
and increase the resilience of the agriculture and food system to climate
change.
Core
Responsibilities:
The Business, Market
and Finance Specialist would be based in Kigali, Rwanda and would provide
day-to-day leadership to activities to improve market access, including
improving access to financial services, supporting farmer cooperatives and
private sector stakeholders to improve aggregation, processing and other
practices to improve competitiveness of agricultural products. The successful
candidate will have excellent understanding and technical experience in
improving access to market and climate information, expanding access to credit
and financial services and linking smallholder farmers to various market
opportunities.
Experience
Requirements:
- Five
(5) years of progressively more responsible international work experience
in business development; - Experience
working directly to integrate the poor into market opportunities;
experience and understanding of market facilitation approaches to increase
productivity for smallholder’s farmers; and - Master’s
Degree or higher in business, economic, marketing, finance, or a closely
related field.
