Databank

A databank is an organized collection of data or
information on one or more subjects, or for a particular purpose. Diaries,
files, or record books (however small) are data banks. A data bank is a repository of
information on one or more subjects that is organized in a way that facilitates
local or remote information retrieval. A data bank may be either centralized or
decentralized.  It is a large repository
of computer data on a particular topic, sometimes formed from more than one
database, and accessible by many users. A data bank may contain information on
single or multiple subjects, may be organized in any rational manner, may
contain more than one database, and may be geographically distributed. More
than one data bank may be required to build a comprehensive database.
