Reporting to: Mechanical Engineer
Duties and Responsibilities
• Provide general administrative support: coordinate meetings and plant visits, maintain phone list.
• Maintain mechanical equipment and parts according to maintenance plan and expectations
• Execute of all scheduled and non-scheduled mechanical activities of all on shore and off shore equipment (Engines, Common Auxiliaries, gas treatment and barge) as per Mechanical Engineer’s Instructions and Planning
• Prepare data reports for Mechanical Engineer.
• Keep proper records of parameters noted on site (running hours/flushing counters, operating parameters).
• Give the right information collected to the Mechanical Engineer in due time.
• Ensure regular and proper handling and maintenance of tools.
• Ensure that advices/instructions are implemented and followed prior to approval from Hierarchies if need be
• Act immediately and responsibly in case of Fire, Gas Emergency Alarm and accident that might happen on site.
• Ensure that all LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out) procedures of equipment before/and after performing any task.
• Respect the Health, Safety & Environmental ContourGlobal Policies and ensure proper applications.
• Identify and correct simple malfunctions of the power plant and barge module.
• Performance of planned maintenance on the gas engines according to Wartsila maintenance schedule up to 10,000 operating hours. This typically includes inspections, maintenance on valve clearance, ignition system, regulating rods, throttle valves, actuators, gas trains, oil filter inserts, crankcase vents, pre-chamber gas valves. Some of this maintenance will be performed independently while others will involve an additional specialist from the regional mobile maintenance crew.
• Performance of planned maintenance on the gas compressor unit. This will typically include various inspections, replacement of oil in the compressors, replacement of filters, , cleaning of various components, such as exhauster impellers, the fins of electric motors, strainers and nozzles in scrubbing systems
• Performance of similar inspections and planned maintenance activities on other equipment, such as gas compressor drilling equipment etc.
• Identify and initiate operational improvements and innovations which will contribute to the enhancement of plant safety and reliability. The management will provide an organizational framework for capturing, implementing and rewarding operational improvement initiatives.
Qualifications and Skills
• Degree in mechanics or technical training / apprenticeship
• Minimum of 3 years experience in maintenance of mechanical equipments offshore and onshore.
• Strong working knowledge of mechanical and hydraulic systems and the ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, maintain and repair all equipments.
• Good in operational English. Working Knowledge of French and Kinyarwanda will be an added value.
