Position Details:
Computer Warehouse Group seeks to fill the role of Software Developers.
The person must possess these core skills:
o Software Programming with Java, C#, C, C++
o Web development any of Struts, JSF, ASP.NET, and PHP
o Database development for any of Oracle, MySQL, MS SQL Server
o Comfortable using Unix/Linux desktop.
Possession of these ‘good to have’ skills will be an advantage:
o ATM, POS or HSM programming experience
o Knowledge of NDC
o Knowledge of ISO 8583 knowledge or similar financial systems standards
Experience
o At least 2 to 5 years programming experience
Our software developer must have been involved in:
o establishing a detailed program specification through discussion with clients;
o breaking down program specification into its simplest elements and translating this logic into a programming language;
o devising possible solutions to predicted problems, evaluating other options;
o working as part of a team, which may be established purely for a particular project, to write a specific section of the program;
o combining all elements of the program design and testing it; testing sample data-sets to check that output from the program works as intended;
o reacting to problems and correcting the program as necessary;
o installing the program and conducting final testing;
o evaluating the program’s effectiveness;
o increasing program operating efficiency and adapting to new requirements, as necessary;
o conducting user acceptance testing to ensure the program can be used easily, quickly and accurately;
o writing detailed documentation for the operation of the program by users and computer operators;
o consulting manuals, periodicals and technical reports to learn new ways to develop programs and maintain existing skills and knowledge;
o Updating, repairing, modifying and expanding existing software and generic applications.
o Providing 3rd line support for COTS as well as custom developed software
