            Lear
(2009) identified causes of inadequate health facilities to include:
1.    Lack of Government
Political Will:
One of the major cause of inadequate health
facilities in schools is government lack of political will to provide health
care facilities for government owned schools, poor supervision of health facilities
in

privately owned schools  and
inadequate enforcement of compliance to set standards of health facilities
required in the school.

2.    Lack of Funds: Insufficient funds to provide health care
facilities in schools has led to insufficient health care facilities in schools
as most of the funds are usually diverted into other areas which are usually
more profitable.
3.    Apathy of School
Management:
School administrators usually display apathy towards
to provision of health facilities in the school as they cannot easily quantify
the benefits to the school in financial terms.
4.    Poor Maintenance Culture: Inadequate health care facilities in the school
can result from poor maintenance culture of facilities installed in the school
to ensure that they have a long lifespan.
5.    Sabotage: Due to ignorance especially in communities with
low literacy level, health care facilities are wilfully damaged to express
grievances and health care workers are attacked.
