Job Opportunity at CRS/Rwanda
Catholic Relief Service is seeking for
a SeniorAgriculture Officer for its program. The Senior Agriculture Officer
plays a key role in developing strategic and operational plans, coordinating,
implementing and providing technical assistance to agricultural components of
project, particularly Farmer Field Learning Schools. S/he will represent CRS
vis-à-vis MINAGRI and partners working in the area of agriculture, at a central
and decentralized level.

The successful candidate will at
minimum have the following Qualifications, Skills and abilities:
  • Minimum
    Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Rural Development, or related field plus
    5 years professional experience in Agriculture.
  • Deep
    knowledge of improved agricultural techniques, including bio-intensive
    agricultural techniques, fortified seeds and kitchen gardens.
  • Demonstrated
    experience in effectively promoting improved agricultural techniques to a
    variety of stakeholders.
  • Ability
    to transfer knowledge to stakeholders with a variety of educational
    backgrounds and interests through both formal and informal training.
  • Previous
    experience working with local civil society organizations on agriculture
    projects.
  • Demonstrated
    commitment to gender-responsive programming.
  • Strong
    leadership skills with independence and good self-initiative.
  • Demonstrated
    ability to work in teams, to engage and motivate staff and solve
    challenges in an innovative manner.
  • Fluency
    in English and French, written and spoken, required.
  • Excellent
    oral and written communication skills, ability to work well with people,
    good judgment and commitment to CRS’ mission.
  • Willingness
    to travel frequently to rural field sites for monitoring and training.
  • Advanced
    computer skills – MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook
  • Rwandan
    nationality
