competencies indicators that will be used to guide future curriculum development work in Alberta. The competencies indicators will guide what is needed in curriculum to ensure that students are competent in being environmentally literate. The competencies indicators will be developed over various levels of learning and will subsequently guide the development of programs of study, teaching resources and assessment. ACEE, Alberta Education staff, and an Advisory Committee will guide the Research Associate’s work.
Qualifications:
• Education — A strong background in in formal education: a Masters level graduate, practicing Ph.D student, or Post-doctoral student
• Knowledge — A deep understanding of both curriculum development/design and environmental education
• Experience — Classroom or environmental education experience would be an asset
• Excellent Communicator — The successful candidate will be able to communicate and work with a diverse group of individuals who will provide guidance for the work. Research and writing skills must be strong.
