General Qualifications:
Hakan Mining & Electricity Generation Inc. (Hakan), established in Istanbul
TURKEY in 1983, is a privately held company and is developing a 80 MW Peat
Fired Power Plant Project in Akanyaru Rwanda. In that respect, Concession- and
Power Purchase Agreements were signed with the Ministry of Infrastructure and
Energy and EWSA in September 2011.
Hakan is currently looking for a Deputy Project Coordinator.
The position will be located in Kigali.
Required qualifications are:
• University degree from Engineering, Business Administration or Finance
departments
• At least 5 years of experience including 2 years in project management, site
engineering or project finance, preferably in infrastructure projects
• Ability to work well within a team and within an international working
environment, having an international sense of business
• Ability to meet deadlines while working on a number of tasks concurrently
• No restrictions to travel abroad
• Excellent command of written and spoken English
Job Description:
• Together with the Project Coordinator, working as Employer’s representative
in Rwanda and assisting the Project Coordinator on his duties,
• On behalf of the Employer, Interacting with Governmental Authorities
participating the project such as Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy, EWSA
and Rwanda Development Board,
• Follows technical activities together with Employer’s Technical
Consultant,
• Coordinates the local administrative processes including construction
permits, staffing requirements, environmental and social issues etc.,
• Provide support functions for issues such as insurance, legal, tax, finance,
staff etc.,
• Coordinates construction site preparations including provision of energy,
water, access road, accommodation for employer’s staff etc.
Salary:
• Around USD 30k / annum + bonus. The final price to be negotiated according to
the caliber of the candidate.
