are recruiting 4 Business Development Managers to validate opportunities for
new social enterprises and, if appropriate, develop these into full businesses
(Pilot MD role).

Activities
for the BDM will include:

- completing
an extensive market assessment;
- identifying
the lead market opportunities;
- developing
the business model that unlocks best value for the business in those
markets;
- securing
lead commercial and technical partnership opportunities;
- capturing
the whole in a coherent business plan with full financial forecasts;
Activities
for the MD will include:

- pitching
the business in order to raise the investment required to take the
business through to profitability;
- establishing
business operations at a pilot scale;
- problem
solving and refinement of business model;

Are We Looking For?
Are We Looking For?
You
will be a creative self-starter, who enjoys working with considerable
discretion to deliver high level outcomes, and with the following key
attributes:

attributes:
- Fluent
written and spoken English, essential;
- Excellent
numeracy and computer skills – particularly Excel, essential;
- Expertise
in business – including business planning, market assessments, market
segmentation, etc.;
- Clear
ability to structure, develop and modify financial forecasts;
- Evidence
of entrepreneurship – ideally, previous experience of establishing a new
business within a team or independently;
- Experience
in agribusiness in East Africa, desirable;
- University
degree in a technical subject: sciences, agriculture, engineering, agronomy,
economics, business, etc.
