Operational Definition of Terms

Land Snail: This is a common name for any of the
numerous species of snail that live on land, as opposed to those that live in
salt water and fresh water.
2.       
Cholesterol: A waxy, fat-like
substance that occurs naturally in all parts of the body

Vascular Diseases: Any condition that affects the
circulatory system
4.       
Heart Attack: When the flow of
oxygen-rich blood to a section of heart muscle suddenly becomes blocked and the
heart can’t get oxygen.
5.       
Cardiac Arrest: The abrupt loss of heart function
in a person who may or may not have diagnosed heart disease
6.       
Hypertension: Also referred to as high blood
pressure, is a condition in which the arteries have persistently elevated blood
pressure.
7.       
Stroke: When the blood supply to part of your brain is
interrupted or severely reduced, depriving brain tissue of oxygen and
nutrients.
8.       
Delicacy: A food item that is considered
highly desirable in various cultures.
9.       
Superstitious Beliefs: An irrational belief
that an object, action, or circumstance not logically related to a course of
events influences its outcome.
10.    
Kwashiorkor: A condition
resulting from inadequate protein intake.
11.     Food:
This is defined as any substance that people or animal eat, drink or that plant
absorbed to maintain life or growth.
12.     Complication: A thing that make a situation more complex or difficult.
13.     Health:
This is the complete state of physical, social, mental and emotional well-being
of a person not only the absence of disease or infirmity.
