ART/PMTCT
Linkage Nurse – Mzuzu Central Hospital, Mchinji and Dedza District Hospitals –
3 posts – Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation
Work with MCH staff to ensure all mothers and children accessing services in
MCH have a known HIV status and provide HTC to those with unknown status,
Ensure integration of PMTCT and EIDT in MNCH, Facilitate the link between Art
clinic and all other depts. Like TB ward, STI, NRU,
Pediatric ward, medical
wards and MCH, Work with MOH staff to strengthen the provision of Family
Planning services in all HIV delivery points
Thorough understanding of the functioning of Malawi District and Central
hospital delivery systems, particularly HIV services, Clinical work experience
in maternity and MCH units, Comfortable working independently and developing
new procedures and systems within a hospital setting, Comprehensive knowledge
and hands on experience in direct provision of HIV treatment and care including
ART/PMTCT and Pediatric HIV care and whole continuum, Proven experience in
conducting basic training and mentorship in ART/PMTCT, Highly organised,
meticulous and reliable, Good interpersonal skills, Excellent oral and
report writing skills
Nurse/Midwife Technician and registered with the Nurses and Midwives Council of
Malawi, must have at least 2 yrs’ clinical work experience in ART/PMTCT,
Medical Wards including TB, MCH, Maternity and Health Centres, Knowledge and
experience of the current Malawi ART/PMTCT guidelines will be an added
advantage
