CCO is a member of the
senior management team and is responsible for providing support, direction,
credit information, and local policies and procedures to ensure the overall
quality of the Bank’s lending portfolio, Accountable to the Chief Executive
Officer, the CCO is responsible for the bank’s commercial lending staff and
monitoring calling efforts and overall portfolio management, This includes
assisting the lending staff with credit structure and financial analysis,
prescreening loan

requests, and mentoring the staff on prospect and customer
calls
Tracking and reporting the calling efforts
of the commercial lending staff to management, Reviewing and
recommending/declining loans prior to submission to Management Credit
Committee, Reviewing, critiquing and either recommending or declining credit
presentations submitted to management for review, Responsible and accountable
for adherence to bank’s credit policies and procedures

Credit
process management – To oversee the Credit
Administration function, this includes credit policy, appraisal services,
collections and special assets, To serve as member of the Bank’s Asset
Liability Committee and act as a liaison between the Asset Liability Committee
and the lending units with respect to Credit policy monitoring, To assist all
lending Relationship Managers in the analysis and structure of credits, To
interface with regulators and supervisory agencies on all credit related
matters, To assist the Accounting/Finance department on credit related
accounting, call report and Loan Loss issues
process management – To oversee the Credit
Administration function, this includes credit policy, appraisal services,

and the lending units with respect to Credit policy monitoring, To assist all

Credit Risk Management – Establish
policies, practices and other control mechanisms to manage risks, Develop risk
assessment and measurement systems, Monitor positions against approved risk
tolerance limits, Report the results of risk management monitoring to the
senior management

Recoveries – To oversee all collection
activity and ensure that the bank’s loan portfolio is current, To ensure that

diversification and concentration is adequate and in line with bank policies,
Enforce credit administration policy to reduce specifically credit
documentation exception, Directly responsible for maintaining acceptable
delinquency ratios within the bank standard limits, Develops collection
strategies to minimize “bad debt” portfolio loss, Monitor monthly debtors’
ageing and ensure that all collections are remitted within the stipulated
timeframe defined by executive management, Maintain a sound allowance for loan
losses; Performing any other duties as may be assigned by management from time
to time

Must have a First Degree
plus a minimum of 10 yrs proven experience on a similar position with a bank,
Those with a post graduate qualification in business, finance or related fields
will have a distinct advantage, Excellent understanding of business
fundamentals in the consumer lending industry, with superior financial,
analytical and technology skills, Excellent oral and written communication
skills to reinforce process controls, strategy and direction, Extensive
knowledge of credit services, loan policy and regulatory compliance
requirements, An up to-date knowledge of general risk in bank operating
environment, A mature individual, comfortable to speak to all levels including
the leadership team, board of directors and the broader organisation
