Zambia midfielder Clatous Chama is expected to link up on Monday, June 8 with Simba SC.

The leaders of the Tanzania Mainland League reported back in camp on Wednesday, May 27 and until now, Rwandan Meddie Kagere and international Kenya Francis Kahata have managed to rejoin the 20-time champions of the league.

Initially, Wekundu wa Msimbazi had stated that they are negotiating with their respective authorities to allow Sudan and Chama’s Sharaf Shaiboub to join their team and the response seems to be positive.

“We are expecting Chama back by June 8,” Simba coach Sven Vandenbroeck told reporters.

“We are confident he is keeping fit because we have been monitoring his progress and situation. Just like other players who rejoined us late, he has to undergo some sessions individually before he is integrated into the team fully.”

The Belgian, 40, also revealed the team’s condition ahead of the league restart on June 13.

“All players are giving their best and with no injuries, the morale is high,” Vandenbroeck added.

“We know there is a battle awaiting us regarding the league title, and we have to prepare well. It will be over once we win the title, but before then, we have to give our best.”

It is not yet known when Shaiboub will be rejoining Simba; due to Covid-19, Sudan is under lockdown.

Currently, the Msimbazi based side leads the race for the 2019/20 league title. They have managed to get 71 points out of the 28 matches played and need to be crowned if they acquire additional 15 points.

Mwadui FC will host Young Africans at Kambarage Stadium on Saturday, June 13, in a tie which is expected to kick off at 16:00 EAT. This is a first-round match, the Matchday 17, which was not honored until mid-March the league was cancelled.

The participation of Yanga in the CAF Champions League made the fixture difficult to play then.

The second match will see the third-place Coastal Union host chasing Namungo FC at Mkwakwani Ground with a similar kick-off time to Yanga vs Mwadui’s.

Champions Simba SC will host Ruvu Shooting at the Dar es Salaam National Stadium on June 14, and second-placed Azam FC will be at home at Azam Chamazi Complex, facing Mbao FC.

Yanga will be in service again on 17 June when JKT Tanzania will host them at Jamhuri Stadium.

The Matchday 29 action includes the Coastal Union vs Namungo FC, Azam vs Mbao FC, Simba vs Ruvu Shooting and Yanga vs. JKT matches.

The matches will be played at home and away once the government has changed its tune where it has ordered the action to be played at one centre.
