Job Title: Assistant Accountant
Venture Risk Management is a rapidly expanding security and support services
company incorporated in
Tanzania, Kenya and the UK. The company provides a broad range of support
services including risk
management, premium security services, medical support, offshore anti-piracy
teams and logistical back up
to a variety of clients with a focus on the exploration and extraction sectors.
The company employs over
500 people supporting clients on project sites and through its consultancy
services across eastern Africa.
Venture Risk Management invites applications from qualified Tanzanians to apply
for the position of
Assistant Accountant based in Dar es Salaam.
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the General Manager the Assistant Accountant will be responsible
for numerous tasks from
general bookkeeping to maintaining highly accurate records of accounts as well
as providing overall
support to the company Accountant. The following tasks are a non-exhaustive
list of the key aspects of the
position:
Day-to-day bookkeeping (sales invoices,
supplier invoices, petty cash, bank, payroll journals,·
general journals)
Enter data into accounting system
(QuickBooks Pro 2010)·
Prepare cash payments, cheques and bank
transfers·
Maintain petty cash records in TZS and
USD·
Maintain fixed assets register and
record additions during the financial year·
Prepare VAT and withholding tax records·
Prepare accounts for monthly management
reports·
File invoices and other financial
documents·
Any additional finance or administration
work as required·
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
University Degree·
Advanced Diploma in Accountancy·
1 to 2 years work experience in a
service based business·
Excellent eye for detail·
Fluency in English and Kiswahili, both
verbal and written, is essential·
Ability to work under pressure and to
tight deadlines·
Reporting to: General Manager Location: Dar es Salaam, possibly
with some travel required within
Tanzania
