SALARY: $14,809.00 p.a. FSN-08

The U.S. Embassy is seeking an individual for the position of COMPUTER MANAGEMENT ASSISTANT within the Public Diplomacy Section.
BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION:
Under the direct supervision of the Director of the Information Resource Center (IRC), the incumbent is responsible for the mission’s Internet website (www.monrovia.usembassy.gov). Continuously updates the Mission Internet website to keep its content current and relevant to Mission goals and activities. Operating within State and Mission regulations and guidelines, updates web content to maximize viewers’ visual interest and promote the use of the information products within the site. Manages all Audio and Visual Technology for the Public Diplomacy Section and its programs; which includes the Polycom Digital Video Conference equipment, public address systems, projectors, video and audio recording equipment. Takes and edits photos and videos for social media. Maintains the IRC computer lab.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Delivers information to clients through direct messaging and through the design and maintenance of the Mission website.
• Delivers Computer Literacy Training to clients per the instructions of the PAO.
• Working in coordination with the PD Section, designs and creates information products as needed. Edits and adapts existing information products to facilitate delivery to and use by clients.
• Posts outreach materials electronically to the target audience and on the Mission website and responds to requests for materials.
• Updates content and activities on the Embassy website/social media sites. Constructs special websites per PAO’s request, maintains social media accounts and CD/DVDs for the Mission to support special bilateral events, such as Presidential visits.
• Advises other webmasters in methods, formats, standards and techniques. Keeps abreast of emerging information technology.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. A university degree and specialized courses in computer technology and graphic design is required.
2. Two years of progressively responsible experience in the field of webpage management and graphic design is required.
3. Level IV (fluent) English written and spoken English. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
4. Ability to update content and manage websites and knowledge of electronic retrieval and delivery tools, in particular the Internet, web design, content management and maintenance, CD/DVD production; awareness of standard information science practices and procedures.
5. Ability to respond rapidly to requests; ability to work effectively with American supervisors as well as with local staff, ability to plan, organize and manage assigned responsibilities using electronic based technologies including the Internet, CD/DVDs and print resources.

SELECTION PROCESS:
