HIV Molecular Laboratory Data Entry Clerk – 2 posts –
Lilongwe, Blantyre – URC- Malawi Project
Reports to: HIV Molecular Tests Technologist
Core responsibilities for this position will include supporting the HIV
Molecular laboratory staff to ensure that all data related to early infant
diagnosis and viral load testing are accurately entered, sourced, stored
and
ready for reporting. The data entry clerk will be asked to contribute to
the smooth running of the reporting cycle for all data on program and research
activities
Ensure the timely and complete input of all relevant data into relevant
databases, Keep track of received data and source documents, Control for data
quality, ensure that data is cleaned and check for accuracy, blank records,
missing or unrealistic information, inconsistencies and duplicates address
accordingly, Ensure accurate labelling and sorting of the fields before and
after data entry, Assist in conducting data collection in periodical surveys
and evaluations aiming at evaluating project activities, Assist to input data
into tables and extract relevant data for reporting on request, Ensure that
data privacy, data security and backup protocols are implemented in the context
of data management and M&E, Participate on LIMS technical working group and
LIMS project implementation, Assist with general clerical duties such as filing
and typing, Perform other related duties as assigned
A minimum of Diploma in Computer Studies or equivalent qualification,
Exceptional certificate holders may be considered, 3 yrs experience in entering
in entering health related data, Experience working with Ministry of
Health and international NGO is essential but not required, Knowledge of
relevant software packages and have good typing speed and demonstrated ability
in the use of MS Access
Communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing, Good judgement
in problem solving, awareness of own limitations and strong internal motivation
essential, Field experience in data collection, Ability to manage tight
timelines, Capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a
team environment, Excellent interpersonal skills
