The Learning and Teaching portfolio professional staff team is the largest in
the faculty consisting of approximately 22 people. It is managed by the L&T
Manager and provides a full range of support to the faculty and academic staff
including a course delivery team, an educational development team, a technical
support team, staff who support curriculum and accreditation requirements for
seven disciplines and multiple courses, and timetabling and academic teaching
workload planning.
We are currently seeking a Manager, Learning & Teaching Support who will
provide sound strategic advice and operational support to the Faculty for the
delivery of Learning & Teaching (L&T) support services for all UG and
PG programs of coursework study, ensuring alignment to the Faculty’s teaching
objectives.
The Manager, Learning & Teaching Support will:
- develop
and operationalise strategies to ensure the Faculty’s L&T support
needs are effectively met - provide
sound expert advice and input into the development of educational support
strategies, including planning and accreditation requirements for the
Faculty - manage
the provision of a broad range of educational support services to academic
staff for UG and PG coursework programs of study, ensuring the needs of
L&T, including a safe working environment for staff and students, are
met effectively and efficiently - oversee
and manage compliance with relevant legislative, regulatory and
accreditation requirements.
You will require:
- postgraduate
tertiary qualifications with relevant experience in business
administration and/or equivalent combination of relevant training and
experience - excellent
negotiation, conflict resolution, relationship building and influencing
skills together with high level of tact, diplomacy and discretion and the
ability to maintain confidentiality - ability
to work both independently and as part of a team, taking initiative and
exercising sound judgement in resolving matters that may arise as part of
normal daily work - strong
problem solving skills and the ability to use initiative and exercise sound
judgement and ability to prioritise workload during busy periods - excellent
time and workload management skills with demonstrated ability to
prioritise effectively, manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines and achieve
required outcomes - demonstrated
experience in the supervision, training, mentoring and performance
management of staff; and experience managing and resolving a diverse range
of HR issues - experience
successfully managing budgets and controlling costs and expenditure - financial
numeracy together with experience in controlling costs and expenditure for
reconciliation/budget tracking, and managing invoice payments and
purchases - demonstrated
ability to translate and implement strategic changes into local
operational practices that enhance the work area’s administrative function
and effectiveness.
