The FutureIndustries Institute’s (FII) mission is to feed the creation of the
industries of tomorrow and to support the transformation of the industries of
today by partnering with them to deliver disruptive solutions to the challenges
they face. FII represents the Universityof South Australia’s largest i

nvestment in research. Established in 2015,
FII further enhances the University’s internationally competitive research
capacity in core future industries across four key strands:

  • Minerals
    and resources engineering
  • Energy
    and advanced manufacturing
  • Environmental
    science and engineering
  • Bioengineering
    and nanomedicine

Facilitating an effective and sustainable collaboration between universities
and business, FII supports state and national research and economic development
priorities, and aims to drive economic growth in Australia.

Augmented by a major strategic partnership with University College London’s
(UCL) Faculty of Engineering, FII undertakes global research, inspired by real
world issues.

Strand Leader: Minerals and
Resources Engineering

As a thought leader and driver of the strategic direction of FII, you will
mentor and empower talented researchers to collaborate with industry to deliver
innovations and new technological solutions in minerals and resources
engineering.

Recognised nationally and internationally as a research leader or innovator in
minerals extraction, minerals processing or a related field, you will build
upon existing relationships and forge new industry partnerships and networks.

Sustained competitive grant funding and a distinguished track record of
high-quality publications are essential for candidates from an academic
background. Candidates with equivalent industry experience will also be highly
regarded and are encouraged to apply.
