Position
Summary:
The position
holder will enhance capacity of site laboratory scientists and technicians to
improve Good Laboratory Practices for effective support of comprehensive
HIV/AIDS services delivery.
Requirements
Essential
Job Functions:
- Train
and mentor site lab professionals in appropriate equipment use and
maintenance and general good laboratory practices - Support
sites to address problems experienced in using laboratory equipment,
including troubleshooting as needed - Work to
develop, strengthen and integrate reagent procurement and supply system
within sites’ overall laboratory management systems - Augment
capacity of laboratory scientists and technicians to improve their
proficiency in chemistry, microbiology, serology and other related fields - Work
with facilities to implement laboratory related improvements and
recommendations identified as part of remediation action
Qualifications
and Experience:
- Bachelor’s
degree in Biomedical Science or Laboratory Technology. Post- graduate
training in Public Health or Management would be an added advantage - Experience
in laboratory management of at least 4 years in a reputable medium sized
institution - Demonstrated
ability to transfer knowledge to diverse audiences through training,
mentoring, and other formal and non-formal methods
