University of Cambridge International Scholarship Scheme

Scholarships

The UK
has voted to leave the European Union.  It is not currently known how long
that process will take or the impact that it will have on UK policy on higher
education tuition fees, loans and bursaries.

However,
the University of Cambridge has confirmed that:

a)
EU students who are already studying at Cambridge, who have an offer to study
at Cambridge, or who apply to start their studies in 2017, will not be subject
to the Overseas fee at any point during the course of their
study, provided this continues to be permitted by UK law. The fee for
those students will remain at the Home/EU rate applicable at the time (which
for undergraduate students may be up to the maximum level allowed under UK law
for each year).

b)
The fees for all applicants, including Home/EU students, considering entry in
2018 (including deferred entry from 2017) have yet to be set.

A fuller
statement from the University’s Vice-Chancellor can be found here.

The
Trust, which remains committed to supporting international students at the
University of Cambridge, will monitor developments closely and publish guidance
where appropriate as details become available.

Applications

All scholarships
require that you apply to the University of Cambridge via the normal online
application form, and most scholarships require that you apply by the relevant
deadline.

There are different
procedures for applying for undergraduatestudy (BA and similar) and for postgraduatestudy (Masters, PhD and similar).

Deadlines

Undergraduate
applicants

For courses starting
in the academic year 2017-18, undergraduate applicants should apply by 15 October 2016

However, there are
some exceptions.  If you are applying for undergraduate study and wish to
be interviewed in China, Malaysia or Singapore, the deadline is 20 September 2016.

Graduate
applicants

International
graduate applicants should apply by 7
December 2016
, and home/EU graduate applicants by 4 January 2017.

If you are applying
for graduate study, check your specific course deadline as some are earlier
than 7 December 2016 – for example, the deadline for applicants to the LLM is
15 November 2016.
