In line with the
problem on the ground, UNICEF Malawi needs a consultant to enhance the current
M&E systems of the health programmes of the Ministry of Health.
Specifically the key tasks include:

data using GIS software. In order to better identify geographical accessibility
to services and clusters of deprivation the consultant will produce maps to
enable managers to take correct actions during planning and implementation
processes.

District Health Teams to populate the Health Management Information System
(HMIS) and the District Health Performance Improvement (DHPI) dashboards with
quality data. This will ensure that the dashboards operate through the online
databank of the Ministry of Health including the District Health Information
System (DHIS).

support the districts build capacity on data generation to enable programme
managers have robust evidence for District Implementation Planning (DIP) and
implementation on the areas of health and nutrition.

the Health Section on managing the spatial databank for health facilities in
Malawi and ensure that all health facilities are visualized in the mapping tool
of the DHIS II. The databank needs to be updated and linked with other
datasets.

the Nutrition section by producing maps of all Nutrition (CMAM) programmes in
Malawi. The consultant will produce facility level maps that indicate key data
for nutrition to include (a) health worker capacity for nutrition service
delivery (CMAM and IYCF); (b) availability of nutrition commodities and
equipment for implementation of the CMAM program; (C) performance of CMAM
program admissions by district and by health facility and (D) CMAM program
outcomes by district and by health facility. He or she shall visualize key
programmatic data using this map.
