Toronto Sales Ambassador
Local ambassadors get local green businesses featured on ethicalDeal. Each day, you’ll call (and occasionally visit) green restaurants, theaters, spas, retailers, and everything in between, negotiating unbeatable deals on behalf of our subscribers. What is green? We look for products that have received third party certifications like Fair Trade, Organic, Oceanwise or EcoLogo to name a few. We also look to how businesses engage their local community and if their services help people live a healthier lifestyle.
We hire connected, innovative, and industry-relevant sales professionals. You should be skilled at negotiation and relationship building. Experience with advertising sales, marketing and social media are beneficial to an ambassador’s success and fit within our team. Compensation is competitive.
General Responsibilities
Sales
• Prospect, consult with, and close local merchants on compelling offers for our subscribers based on each business’s products & services
• Identify new and creative businesses & activities to be featured, expanding the range of offers for our subscribers
• Present ethicalDeal as a unique alternative for businesses to acquire new customers and gain exposure
• Gather the required information for the feature and liaise with production staff as necessary
• Attend events and use social media tools like Facebook and Twitter to engage our community
Requirements
• 2+ years of sales experience preferred; experience in green vertical an asset
• Experience canvassing and cold-calling into various types of local businesses, with evidence of consistent and current success
• Ability to use initiative and work both autonomously and as part of a team
• Customer service focus with a “Can Do” attitude
• Ability to handle heavy workload, prioritize tasks, multi-task and enjoy a challenge
• Prior experience working from home/a virtual office is strongly preferred
