Our client, a global cosmetics development and production company, currently have a vacancy for a Principal Chemist, Skincare. Based in Dublin and reporting to the Skincare Formulation Manager you will have the
following responsibilities:
The Job:
To support the growth of expertise in skincare formulation science to deliver the Skincare Category strategy.
To develop and deliver cost effective and robust formulations that fulfil the company’s skincare brand ambitions in line with required launch dates.
To gather, interpret and apply strategic Technical Insights to inform the Innovation process and development of Skincare Technical strategy
To manage and develop skincare chemists.
Working closely with the skincare NPD Manager and Formulation Technology Manager to lead key developments in skincare formulation technology.
Work with the skincare NPD and Technology development teams to build the company’s library of formulation bases

Oriderm and Claims Support teams
Product Testing, Process Development and Manufacturing teams
Marketing teams in the General Support Office (GSO) Stockholm
R&D Safety, Compliance and Regulatory teams
Skin Research Team
The job is based in Ireland but may involve travel to Stockholm Sweden for discussions with Marketing, Skin Research, packaging and purchasing teams and may require visits to manufacturing plants in Poland, India or China
External Interfaces include Raw Material Suppliers, external consultants, product testing centres, industry bodies and parallel industries.
Qualifications:
Minimum of a good Degree level qualification in a scientific discipline
Extensive knowledge of cosmetic ingredients
5-7 years experience developing cosmetics and in particular skincare products
Minimum 5 years experience in cosmetic formulation
Proven track record of developing Skin Care formulations from first principles.
Lateral thinker with proven ability to generate creative solutions to problems
Self motivated and capable of working on own initiative
Strong problem solving abilities.
