blog that receives approximately 10,000 hits per month. We are group
of volunteers and generate no revenue therefore we do not have the

The Opportunity:
The Enviro-Mental section is looking for volunteer writers who will
contribute on a topic of specialty or interest on a monthly,
bi-monthly or occasional basis. The goal of the Enviro-Mental section
is to inspire and inform the public of environmental issues and
opportunities to participate. It is especially important to link urban
communities to the environment.
There are two streams for which we are looking: (1) local
environmental events or opportunities and (2) science-based
communication.
Requirements:
Local Environmental Events or Opportunities
• Environment or Nature enthusiast
• Looks for and participates in Toronto, regional or national
environmental events
• Has a social media presence (twitter is a must, website or personal
blog is also good)
• Able to write for a general audience who may not have a background
in the subject area.
• Engaging and enthusiastic writer who wants to connect with people online
• Able to commit to a periodic schedule of your choice (i.e. monthly,
bi-monthly, occasional) which is obviously flexible when needed.
Science-Based Communication
• A college or university degree in an environmental or science-related field.
• Able to write for a general audience that may not have background in
the subject area.
• Write using evidence-based/research-based so that facts and
information is correct.
• Has a social media presence (twitter is a must, website or personal
blog is also good)
• Engaging and enthusiastic writer who wants to connect with people online
• Able to commit to a periodic schedule of your choice (i.e. monthly,
bi-monthly, occasional) which is obviously flexible when needed.

this is your first time writing, it is not a problem and we can work
with you on honing your craft.
