POSITION
AVAILABLE: Program Associate, The Philippe Kirsch Institute
Based in
Toronto or Ottawa
The Philippe Kirsch
Institute provides high calibre Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for
lawyers in Canada and internationally. All proceeds support the work of the
Canadian Centre for International Justice (CCIJ).
The Program
Associate will work closely with the Director of Programming to support the
on-going development of the Institute and the delivery of its programs,
focusing on communications and administrative responsibilities.
This position will
be based in Toronto or Ottawa and is a permanent position, with the
responsibilities evolving a
s the Institute grows and its staff expands.
ROLES &
RESPONSIBILITIES
The core
responsibilities include:
- Handling
participant inquiries by email and phone - Corresponding
with Faculty members, advisors, sponsors and other stakeholders - Handling
logistical arrangements for programs - Assisting
with program advertising and social media content - Handling
basic website content, including drafting & editing, and coordinating
with tech consultant - Assisting
with financial management - Coordinating
with translation services - Assisting
with applications for funding, managing grants and submitting reports - Developing
new organizational systems, tools and policies
The Institute is in
its first year of operations, with its systems, tools & relationships at an
early stage of development. As such there is significant opportunity for an
organized and dedicated person to make a deep contribution to the early success
of The Philippe Kirsch Institute, and thus to the ability of CCIJ to fulfill
its important charitable mandate. This will be a demanding and very rewarding
position.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Applicants must:
- Be fully
bilingual. - Have at
least 2 years of experience in a program support role. - Have
excellent oral and written communication skills in both languages. - Have
excellent digital skills and strong faculty with MS Word, Excel, and
Powerpoint. - Be
highly organized, efficient and motivated. - Have a
deep interest in contributing to a new venture with a bold vision.
Additional
assets:
knowledge of legal services in Canada; social media savviness; familiarity with
WordPress; financial management experience.
REMUNERATION: $40,000 per annum.
