Company is a vertically integrated agro-industrial business planting trees on
sustainable commercial plantations for processing and selling of value added
timber products to local and regional markets. The New Forests Company has the
following opportunity in East Africa:
Processing
Manager – Rwanda

Would an
opportunity in timber processing and manufacturing in a rapidly growing Pan
African company interest you? We are recruiting for a Processing Manager who
can design, establish and manage new sawmill plants and other timber processing
plants successfully in East Africa. The sawmill/processing plant establishment
will pose the challenge of successful EIAs (environmental impact assessments)
and the direct dealings with the suppliers of the sawmill equipment.
An ambitious,
dynamic and assertive team player with excellent people management skills is
needed to lead diverse teams in East Africa at all sawmill facilities. The
successful candidate should be a mature individual with a hands-on approach and
some experience in a commercial environment. Strong financial management and
numeric skills is essential. Experience in operations management, sawmilling,
manufacturing, timber processing, transport, fleet and logistics management
would be essential. Innovative achievements would be advantageous on the CV of
a candidate with unquestionable integrity.
Requirements:
At least 5 years’ relevant experience in a supporting (assistant plant manager)
capacity and preferably 2 to 5 years’ relevant experience in a sole leadership
position.
Qualifications:
Essential:
Qualified in wood technology | Forestry | applicable science Preferred: A basic
management qualification will be a distinct advantage over and above the
essential qualifications.
