voice of Canadian-owned English-language book publishers. ACP contributes to
the development and maintenance of vibrant, competitive book publishing
companies, professionally managed, and owned and controlled in Canada, in order
to support and strengthen the contribution that Canadian books make to Canada’s
cultural, economic, and educational landscape.

 Job Description

ACP is currently seeking a full-time Program

Manager. Reporting
to the Executive Director, the Program Manager will work from the ACP’s
downtown Toronto office and be involved in a broad range of ACP activities. The
start date for this position is June 1, 2015.

 Requirements:

Responsibilities:
• Project management, including developing budgets, writing
grant applications, project implementation, and reporting to government funders
and ACP members;
• Board and committee support, including development of meeting schedules,
agendas, and minutes for select committees;
• Lobbying and advocacy support, including coordination of the ACP board’s
lobbying activities;
• Communications, including oversight of ACP website, social media, and
publications.
Qualifications:
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational
skills;
• Self-motivated with a desire to learn;
• Demonstrated financial management skills;
• Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines;
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel;
• Knowledge of social media strategy and best practices is an asset;
• University degree and some post-secondary education in book publishing or
arts management, and/or at least 2-3 years of related work experience;
• Keen interest in Canadian writing and publishing.
