Position Title: Technical Advisor

Job Summary:
The Technical Advisor for Kenya will work closely with the Country Director in Kenya. The incumbent will provide program technical assistance to clinical sites , provide leadership to the technical team, conduct relevant trainings and conduct systematic monitoring and evaluation activities.
Key Responsibilities:
• To provide technical assistance to the medical team in the development and roll-out of various HIV treatment protocols.
• Provide technical support to HIV/AIDS program managers.
• Together with the programme Team, participate in monitoring and evaluation (M&E) and prepare reports to the Clinical Team, Ministry of Health (MOH), National AIDS and STI Control Program (NASCOP), and other stakeholders.
• Ensure the maintenance of high quality and technical soundness of actual HIV/AIDS care and treatment at the treatment site.
• Provide technical guidance to the medical doctors especially for unique and difficult clinical cases.
• Support program managers in the development of HIV/AIDS programs in line with organisation policies.
• Participate in the process of updating policies, strategies and guidelines for HIV/AIDS.
• Give technical advice on setting up and the development of community-based networks to enhance patient medical education and social support.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
• MD holder with 5 or more years of experience in HIV/AIDS.
• MMED/MPH or equivalent.
• Must be registered with the Kenya Medical Practitioners’ and Dentists’ Board.
• Demonstrated clinical experience in PMTCT, TB/HIV, HIV/AIDS patients care and treatment, including ART.
