Accounts Assistant , Reporting to Finance

Degree or its equivalent in finance and accounting, 5 yrs experience in finance
and accounting, Experience in managing donor funded accounting requirements is
essential, Note le
ss than 2 yrs experience in working with SAGEPASTEL
accounting software package, Strong analytical, problem solving, and
communication skills, Strong moral and spiritual values with high commitment to
integrity, transparency and accountability
Assist in providing financial capacity building training and support to
partners, Assist in reviewing of procurement requests for goods and services
and ensure procumbent procedures are being followed, Assist in updating asset
register and other office inventory, Responsible for undertaking of day to day
activities including cash disbursement, cash receipt, banking and other finance
related tasks, Prepare budgets and reports for country office and donors,
Assist in the preparation of funds request for Country Office and partners,
Assist in the implementation of audit recommendation for the country office us
well as partners on issues raised by external auditors, Ensure effective filing
systems that provide easy access to finance related information and proper
documentation of all financial and contractual transactions, Ensuring that
all approved creditors invoices are paid within the appropriate credit
limit and submitted on time, Preparing journals in
liaison with the finance manager from time to time Prepare payment vouchers and
ensure supporting documents are properly maintained, Ensuring that the
statutory payments and remittances are made on time on a monthly basis i.e. tax
, Assist in capturing of data into financial system on monthly basis, Prepare
bank reconciliations on monthly basis,
