Symptoms of urinary tract infections

CYSTITIS: this is commonly known as lower urinary
tract infection or bladder infection and affects the bladder. It causes the
following symptoms.
·        
Pressure
in lower pelvis pain
·        
Dysuria
(painful urination)
·        
Polyuria
(frequent urination)
·        
Urinary
urgency
·        
Nocturia
(urination during night)
·        
Haematuria
(urine with trace of blood ).
Pyelonephritis: this is commonly referred to as
upper urinary tract infections and affects the kidneys. It is also known as
“pyolitis”. Severe incidence causes the accumulation of pus around kidneys and
is known as “pyonephrosis”. Symptoms of pyelonephritis include fever and flank
pain (back pain) in addition to symptoms seen in lower urinary tract infection.
