Signs/symptoms of diabetic retinopathy

At the early stages of diabetic
retinopathy, there is likely to be no symptoms experienced by the victim, but
as the complication progresses, the victim may notice
§ Blurred vision
§ Sudden loss of vision in one or both
eyes
§ Black spots
§ Difficulty reading or seeing detailed
work

§ Fluctuating vision
§ Floating objects in the eyes
§ Development of a scotoma or shadow in
the field of view
§ Corneal abnormalities such as slow
healing of wounds caused by corneal abrasions (scratching of the cornea).
§ Double vision
§ Pain in the eyes
§ Near vision problems unrelated to
Presbyopia
§ Cataracts
