About Sierra Club Canada:
Sierra Club Canada is one of the oldest and most established environmental organizations in North America. It has been active in Canada since 1963 with the national office being
established in Ottawa in 1989.
Sierra Club Canada is a member-based organization that empowers people to protect, restore and enjoy a healthy and safe planet. Today, Sierra Club Canada has approximately 10,000 members, supporters, and youth affiliate members across Canada. Our members are volunteers who work in club campaign activities, as well as outings and club development.
Responsibilities:
• Some general office duties i.e. answering phones, answering emails, etc.
• Provide assistance to campaigners in the form of research, administrative and organizational support.
• Monitoring of Sierra Club Canada’s media presence.
• Independent research possibilities depending on need.
• Helping with outreach to members and fundraising.
Qualifications:
An ideal candidate should be outgoing and comfortable working with others. He or she should also be able to handle multiple projects at once as well as being able to work independently as the case may be.
Additional qualifications include:
• A recent graduate or working towards a university/college degree.
• Past work/volunteer experience for an NGO is ideal, but not required.
• Knowledge of French is an asset, but not required.
