Search for Common Ground is seeking a Finance
& Administrative Manager to be based in its Kigali office. SFCG is an NGO
operating in 30 countries around the world whose mission is to transform the
way individuals, groups and societies deal with conflict : away from
adversarial approaches, toward cooperative solutions.
Key responsibilities include :
  • Overall management of the Admin/Finance
    Department ;
  • Efficient and effective oversight of all
    project funds, including supervising financial systems and
    procedures ;
  • Develop and manage project and operational
    budgets ;
  • Monitor spending and forecasting upcoming
    needs and strategy ;
  • Ensure that SFCG is in compliance under
    internal and international donor regulations on financial and
    operational issues ;
  • Oversee Human Resources and ensuring
    compliance under Rwandan law and conformity to SFCG’s practice ;
  • Manage internal and external audits ;
  • Maintain NGO registration for SFCG and
    provide representation in forums as requested ;
  • Manage and support personnel including
    Administrative and Financial Coordinator, Logistician, Drivers and
    Office Assistant ;
  • Produce timely, quality, and accurate
    financial reports, including preparation of monthly financial reports
    and follow up ;
  • Oversee office management, including office
    facilities and security ; and
  • Other tasks as requested and appropriate for
    the position.
Required knowledge, qualifications and
competencies for position :
The Administrative and Financial Manager must
possess the following knowledge, qualifications and competencies and
demonstrate that he/she can undertake the essential functions of the
position :
  • A university degree in accounting, economics
    or business administration
  • 6+ years working for international NGO or
    similar in Finance and Administration capacity
  • Fluency in oral and written Kinyarwanda,
    French and English
  • Experience with managing Human Resource
    issues in Rwanda
  • Strong command of relevant computer
    software, specifically Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook and the
    Internet, experience with Microsoft Great Plains is an asset
  • Strong knowledge of compliance regulations
    for European and United States donors
  • Experience with budgeting and reporting to
    International Donors
  • Capacity to negotiate with partners and to
    make decisions affecting those partnerships
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Possess strong oral and written
    communication skills and be able to establish and maintain good
    relationships with colleagues and partners
  • Have an interest in SFCG’s mission and work
