PURCHASING / MATERIAL MANAGEMENT / INVENTORY
(Selangor – Shah Alam)
Responsibilities:
MATERIAL ISSUE :
• Assembles materials from requisition forms; loads and unloads equipment and supplies from trucks; loads docks and runways.
• May determine material requirements from general item descriptions or from construction drawings or specifications, may contact vendors to determine availability of parts and equipment.
MATERIAL ORDERING :
• Writes up purchase requisitions to maintain adequate inventory of materials and supplies and initiates special orders for materials and parts for special jobs.
• Co-ordinates with the team regarding materials for planned jobs. Works with Accounting Section concerning discrepancies in deliveries and to identify and anticipate problems regarding a transaction on a purchase or delivery.
• Coordinates with Purchasing Section on materials relating to purchases, inventory, and non-inventory items according to specifications and standards.
RECEIVING OF MATERIALS ON SITE :
• A copy fo the P.O. without price ( from Sazean Engineering) will be given to him prior to receiving materials on site to ensure the correct quantity and type of materials delivered meant for the right recipient and the right phase of the project.
• Any goods that do not conform with the specifications stated in the PO or with defects will be rejected instantly with remarks stated on all copies of the D/o(s).
• Short delivered items or breakages will be stated in all copies of D/O(s) to enable easy claim for Credit Note from the suppliers.
• Any inadequacy will have to be instantly inform to Sazean Trading and subsequently followed by email or memo.
• Materials received must be recorded in the daily material receiving logbook maintained under the control of the Inventory Manager with Photostat D/O(s) filed.
• Sazean Trading’s staff will go to the site weekly to collect the original D/Os from the Inventory Manager.
• In the case of receiving D/O(s) on behalf of subcon, the original D/O(s) will have to be first signed by the Inventory Manager and then counter signed by the respective subcon before distribution
a) Original D/O for Sazean Trading
b) Photostat for inventory file record
c) A copy of the Photostat for subcon’s own record.
ENSURING RENTED SCAFFOLDINGS IN GOOD ORDER AT SITE :
• To monitor and keep track of the above rented scaffoldings from time to time.
• To inform Sazean Trading of any breakages / damages of scaffoldings for purpose of back charge to subcon.
• To keep a record of any unused scaffoldings at site and provide a storage for safekeeping meant for future use.
• To minimise any loss of scaffoldings at site especially the joint pins.
MATERIAL (RE) STOCKING :
• Accepts and returns to stock all materials, supplies and equipment returned upon completion of jobs.
• Inventories stock as scheduled or required; posts and maintains records of stock received and issued; notifies management when supplies are getting low.
MATERIAL CONTROL:
• Labels items for storage as required; assists in filing receiving reports and requisitions.
• Ensures the security of equipment and supplies.
SAFETY AND TRAINING:
• May instruct other assigned personnel in storekeeping procedures.
• Follows applicable OSHA personal and equipment safety regulations and guidelines.
Requirements:
• At least 5 year(s) of working experience with preference in the property and construction industry.
• Required language (s) : Bahasa Malaysia and an excellent command of written and spoken English.
• Able to work independently, under tight schedules and multi-tasking.
• Able to start immediately.
