Rwanda with a current staff complement of approximately 94 staff. SC is
implementing an emergency response programme to support the Burundi refugees in
Mahama Refugee Camp.

PURPOSE
OF POSITION:
To
support the Laboratory Technician and other clinical staff in the provision /
performing of Laboratory based diagnostic activities.
KEY
AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
Responsibilities:
  • Assist
    setting  up in laboratory for the newly Established Health Centre in
    Mahama 1
  • Keeping
    the laboratory records and dispatching the result in time.
  • Keeping
    and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
  • Collecting,
    summarizing and interpretation of laboratory weekly and monthly returns to
    ease in the work load when preparing weekly and monthly survey report..
  • To
    do all laboratory test in respective benches i.e. Bio-chemistry,
    Hematology, Parasitology, Microbiology  and blood transfusions and be
    available during emergencies in Odd hours
  • To
    maintain quality control and provide quality assurance in all laboratory
  • Respect
    confidentiality of patient’s condition in line with the medical ethics.
  • Responsible
    to ensure cleanliness of the laboratory.
  • Ensure
    the adherence to and respect of the universal infection precautions.
  • In
    charge of  compiling orders for supplies of the department

QUALIFICATIONS
AND EXPERIENCE
  • Diploma
    or Certificate in Medical Laboratory science
  • Minimum
    1 year  work experience within a busy hospital working
    environment 
  • High
    level of integrity and ability to work as part of a professional team
  • Ability
    and willingness to work under high pressure to meet tight deadlines
  • Good
    communication and interpersonal skills
