Location: Napanee, Ontario (between Kingston & Belleville)
Sandy Hill Farm is looking for an individual to be the primary assistant for
this growing season. The successful candidate would be involved with all
aspects of the operation – growing a beautiful and diverse v
ariety of flowers,
greenery, and branches.
Sandy Hill is a family farm dating to 1798 and includes a stone house, circa
1815. We market flower garden intensively on 2 acres growing a large assortment
of heirloom flowers and features for our retail flower shop Bloomfields
Flowers, in Ottawa, ON. Sandy Hill farm is a non certified organic farm.
Position Details
• Soil preparation, brush clearing
• Plant, cultivate, weed, pest manage, and irrigate crops
• Operate and maintain farm equipment including rototiller
• Harvest crops grade for quality and prepare for market
Work Conditions
• Working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Fast-paced environment, working under pressure
• Heavy loads and physically demanding work
• Attention to detail
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Experience
Some previous farm labourer experience or serious gardening experience required.
