TITLE: Vacant post on TB case
finding Officer

Expected duration of assignment: 1 year renewable
1.Background
The Rwanda Ministry of Health, through RBC / IHDPC /TB division is committed to
fight against Tuberculosis and other respiratory diseases with the aim of
reducing the morbidity and mortality as well as transmission of TB.
Within the Rwanda National Tuberculosis Control Strategic plan 2009-2012,
strengthening diagnostic capacities is an essential strategy to early detect
and reduce the burden of TB among the most vulnerable people.
This year, the TB Division wants to strengthen the capacities of TB case
detection especially in High risk group in order to achieve the MDGs
indicators.
Under the supervision of the Head of TB&ORD Division, the primary
responsibilities of TB case finding Officer include but not limited to:
• Manage all activities related to TB Case finding especially for the high risk
group of TB.
• Provide technical advices related to TB case finding specially for high risk
group of TB (children .prisoners, schools, etc),
• Strengthen the TB diagnostic capacities in case detection especially for the
high risk group of TB.
• Implement the quarterly and annually plan activities related to TB case
finding;
• Coordinate the development/updating/distribution of all technical manuals and
tools related to TB in children, prisoners, schools;
• Coordinate the trainings of health care providers on TB case finding in high
risk group;
• Be responsible of Monitoring and evaluation of the implementation of TB case
finding in high risk group of TB treatment activities;
• Report quarterly and annually to the Head of TB &Other Respiratory
Communicable Diseases Division;
• Be a Focal point for operational research and clinical trials or other
research designs studies done on TB case finding.
Required qualifications:
• Medical doctor or Masters in Public Health or Masters in Epidemiology
• Current practice in TB /HIV care and Treatment (at least 2 years)
• Training skills and previous experience with a TB and HIV management course.
• Fluency in English and French
