Senior Physiotherapist – Temporary Regular Part-Time (1 Year)

Position summary:
The Senior Physiotherpist manages a patient caseload including assessments and implementation of effective intervention strategies as well as acting as a clinical resource for practice enhancement within the team.

Primary Responsibilities:
* Assesses assigned patients through the administration of formal and informal assessments.
* Determines and monitors appropriate transfer status.
* Formulates and implements individual treatment plans based on analysis of assessment findings and clinical reasoning.
* Establishes goals in collaboration with the patient and/or substitute decision maker
* Supports the PT Assistants as they carry out assigned treatment and other tasks.
* Recommends equipment for patient use e.g., mobility devices
* Participates in the planning and implementation of policies and service development
* Promotes and leads interprofessional learning sessions
* Coaches and develops staff related to specific clinical skills
* Orients and mentors new staff as well as students

The successful candidate will posses the following qualifications/experience:
• Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited Physiotherapy Program
• Member in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario
• Assistive Devices Program Authorizer an asset
• Minimum 4 years experience in a Rehabilitation/Complex Continuing Care Hospital or Acute Care Hospital preferred
• Demonstrated expertise with geriatric, neurological and MSK conditions
• Completion of ongoing post-graduate professional development
• Basic Cardiac Life Support
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work co-operatively within an inter-professional team
• Excellent communications, organizational skills and ability to manage workload
• Demonstrated critical thinking/problem solving skills
