The role sits within the commercial function of the business will focus on
managing and growing the raw material supply for the business which will
encompass setting price, payment and purchase agreements with suppliers.
This function is critical to the success of the company’s existing manufacturing
requirements as well as supporting and p
roviding the base for the company’s
growth targets and product development goals which are currently being
implemented.
Although this role has direct accountability for the supply and procurement at
the start of the supply chain, information gained from market intelligence and
understanding of the “Big Picture” with regard to end product marketing and
global and domestic market dynamics will influence the style, delivery and
financial offering to suppliers. The key outcome of the role will be to lead
and drive the supply strategy to be consistent with company objectives.
Therefore, it is critical that the successful candidate has the rounded
agribusiness experience and skills to manage relationships at grower level but
strategically apply their knowledge and understanding of the whole supply chain
from farm through to customer as part of the commercial management team.
The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate strong relationship
management skills at either grower level or within a B2B agribusiness role or
both, strong influencing and engaging skills and an ability to build
credibility and trust with key stakeholder internally and externally through
driving change in behaviours.
