Research Center Division of the RBC 21 Various Jobs Vacancies in Rwanda

The Medical Research Center Division of the
Rwandan Biomedical Center through a memorandum of understanding between the
Ministry of Health – Rwanda and Amsterdam Center –Netherland seeks to
implement a project, untitled “Empowering the community towards malaria
elimination” in Ruhuha Sector, Bugesera District. This project, funded by the
Netherlands Organization for scientific for Global Development “WOTRO”, will
support human capacity building of four PhD research candidates. To support
the implementation of this project, MRC Division is currently seeking
motivated applicants to serve in the following posts:
 1. Position 1: Laboratory technicians
(10 positions).
 Supervisor: PhD Research Scientist.
Duration: 3 months
with a possibility to renew

Conditions and qualifications
required            
     
Potential candidates for the position of
laboratory technicians should be/have:
  • Rwandan by nationality
  • At least a Diploma A1, A0 in laboratory
    field
  • Work experience of not less than 4years in
    health domain, laboratory field
  • Training in safety, quality assurance and
    GCLP issues in an established laboratory
  • Participation in recognized research/assessment
    of infectious diseases is an advantage
  • Knowledge in computer literate and able to
    run programs such as Access, Excel;
  • Knowledge of Kinyarwanda and English (spoken
    and written). Additional knowledge of French is an advantage;
  • Prior participation in a malaria
    parasitological field survey is an advantage
2. Position 2: Study Interviewers (10 position)
 Supervisor: PhD Research Scientist.
Duration: 3 months
with a possibility to renew

Conditions and qualifications required
Potential candidates for the position of
temporary surveyors should be/have:
  • Rwandan by nationality
  • At least bachelor degree (A0) in public
    health, social science or other related health field
  • Experience in door-to-door household survey
    and performance of not less 3 recognized research/field survey of
    infectious diseases
  • Demonstrate computer knowledge and skills
    with experience of use in at least 2 field surveys
  • Have written and spoken knowledge of
    Kinyarwanda and English. Knowledge of French is an advantage
  • Participation in research/surveys is an
    advantage 
3. Position 1: Database manager (1 position)
 Supervisor: PhD Research Scientist.
Duration: one year

Conditions and qualifications required
Potential candidates for the position of database
management assistant should be/have:
  • Rwandan by nationality
  • At least bachelor degree (A0) in information
    and technology or other related computer sciences field.
  • Participatory Experience in household survey
    and hands on experience in research data management of not less than 3
    recognized  research/field surveys required
  • Knowledge of at least 2 data analysis
    package such as SPSS, STATA, Epi Info and be computer proficient (able
    to run programs such as Access, Excel);
  • Must have at least 3 years with Microsoft
    Access software;
  • Knowledge and acquaintance with PDA/Tablet
    usage and software and software programming is highly advantageous
  • Written and spoken knowledge of Kinyarwanda
    and English is required.
